SEGA Japan has released these somewhat delicious images of Afterburner to our friends over at Impress Game Watch, images that made us wet ourselves with wee of glee.
We first saw Afterburner, complete with delirium-inducing soundtrack, as Sega’s preview booth came alive with joy at this year’s E3. You can read all about that here.
At the time, it was expected that the Xbox 360 would be the resting place for Afterburner, though in a moment of brilliance, Sega opted for an arcade outing, no doubt inspired by the success of OutRun’s return to the land of coin-operated machinery.
No concrete details on the game’s availability at time of going to press, though be assured we’ll keep you updated on this and all things Sega, especially things involving beloved arcade franchises being re-released.
