Children of Mana - New Screens

Squenix RPG for DS looks gorgeous.

Journey over to French site Jeux France where they’ve purloined some very pretty shots of Square Enix’s Seiken Densetsu DS.

Better known to us western sorts as the World of Mana, we were first initiated into the delights of this Squenix RPG on the good old SNES. 2003’s Sword of Mana sequel on Nintendo’s 16-Bit throwback the GBA was solid enough, but left many who remembered the passion of the original a bit cold.

We’re hoping Square Enix has better surprises in store for us with this instalment, titled Children of Mana. It's certainly taking its time over it, with the game slated to hit Japanese shelves in winter 2006. The story follows characters Frick, Tumble and Pop on a quest to save the world from global catastrophe, and it looks really gorgeous. Head over to Jeux-France to look at the full set.

I must say this game looks gorgeous. I remember playing Secret Of Mana on the snes, purely one of the best role playing games ever made, it was an experience more than a game.
I hope square emulate that in this game.
It is the prospect of games like this that make me pleased I got a DS.
