Resident Evil DS – New Screens!

That are really, really small…

Posted by Staff
Capcom Japan has dished out the first really, really small screenshots taken from Resident Evil: Deadly Shadows - or Biohazard DS, according to the scary voice - on the game’s official site.

So, the bad news is that the offered screens are really, really small, though at least they’re not scanned from Famitsu, meaning we can all enjoy them without fear of being sued by Enterbrain.

As you can see, or perhaps make out through your squinting, the game features the (if load time-free) original Resident Evil, remade in 3D and looking blocky, if, well… interesting?

it's not 3D.

also on the official site, 2nd+3rd screens use exact same background.

the first person section is probably stationary, meaning 3D enemies on a 2D background, similar to RE:Gaiden.

If it's not 3D, then what is it? Zero D! Forgive my sarcasm.

Those comparison pics on your link are a little silly, because the PSone version was prerendered. The DS version will obviously look rougher around the edges, (since it's still in development) maybe because there's no prerendered sugar to ice its cake.

The FP view would also be more likely if it's in total 3D which the DS shouldn't have that much trouble doing (don't forget similar tech gave us Goldeneye). It might look better once it's done, we'll see.

Sure, I could be wrong, but I suggest we wait to see what Capcom show off, (or for the official word) if they are at TGS.

I have to admit it still looks damn good for a DS game prerendered or not, I thourght the DS would have trouble displaying 3d graphics, I was obviously mistaken.
