Konami Europe has been kind enough to release some screenshots and a ream of information detailing Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for PSP, perhaps the most anticipated title in the works for Sony’s handheld.
The version will stand toe to toe with planned PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions, seeing 57 national sides lining up alongside 136 club teams - not a bad tally at all.
The PSP version offers wireless multiplayer play with a dedicated scoring system tallying games, results and goals between player. Also promised is PlayStation 2 link-up functionality, with gamers able to import their favourite teams and swap team data with other PES5 fans.
Right now there is no release date for PSP Pro Evo, and Konami’s press release on the matter is somewhat vague, cleverly skirting the issues; “Due for release on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC-DVD in Q4, the PSP version of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will feature the utter realism, intuitive play and fast-paced action of the ever-popular series.” Then we read it again and noticed that it actually says it’ll be ready for Autumn, just after the September 1st PSP launch.
We'll bring you more as we get it. And let us know why Pro Evo news and our report regarding one of the best game series in the world usually fails to get a response from you in the forum below.
