No wait, there's a little more. As you will have read in
yesterday's news, Sega revealed some new images of House of the Dead 4 during a private showing to the Japanese press. It was mentioned at the time that a new arcade platform would power the game, though no one was sure exactly what hardware would be used as a base. The name Lindbergh has been bandied about for some time by Sega, a moniker for its as-yet unseen next-generation Power-VR based coin-op platform.
It was confirmed today that House of the Dead, a lightgun rail shooter of epic beauty and evil, will be the inaugural title for the platform. Leaving one question outstanding in our minds - Is Lindbergh based on Xbox 360 as has been rumoured of late? Some sources have claimed that the board could even be a collaberation with Sony, seeing PlayStation 3 compatibility and squeezing out Namco and it's monopoly on PlayStation arcade ports the firm currently enjoys with the PS2-based System 256 platform.
Stay tuned for further gossip and some speculation, leading to final confirmartion of facts over the coming weeks.
