Sonic Gems to see Streets of Rage trio bonus?
The latest morsel of gossip to reach our humble inboxes involves the intriguing-looking Sonic Gems Collection, currently in the works for Nintendo’s GameCube console.

According to not really very much at all, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage II and Streets of Rage 3 will be available to play as part of the medly of classic Sega titles SGC offers.

Thus far, Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighters and Sonic R have all been confirmed, as have various old GameGear titles including Sonic Spinball, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic The Hedgehog Triple Trouble, Sonic Drift 2, Tails' Skypatrol, and Tails Adventures.

Another game mooted for inclusion is the Megadrive version of the smash-hit multiplayer comedy-em-up Bonanza Bros.

No official clarification from Sega as yet, though feel free to check our mini-preview of the game here.

Damn, now that is a beat em up trilogythat is long over due, infact they should have graced my GBA ages ago (though I know the first SoR game did in a 3 in 1 Sega GBA pack).

Looks like my humble little GC will have something to shout, even when he's subtituted for a new Rev.

Doesn't this sweetness to Nintendo make you wonder if Sega will offer their games for download on Rev, or will Sega chummy up with Sony or MS to do the same instead?

All those Sega and Nintendo games available on one system like the Rev would be a dream come true. GG, MS, MD, MCD, 32X, SS, and DC, what a coup that would be and no mistake. Sega also have previous experience in this area of downloadable games in japan and have worked with Nintendo before. Stranger things have happened.

Who will get to this Sega treasure trove first I wonder? Or will Sega continue via the compilation disc route? Looking forward to this compilation already, import or not.

I believe that in a previous SPoNG article, Mr Naka said that he hoped some of Sega's games would make it to the Revolution download service.

This game has been dated by VGP: Tuesday 16 August, 2005 in the US.

These are an excellent addition! I only ever manged to play the original Streets of Rage - any chance of Golden Axe next?

I was going to get Mega Collection, however I might just get this as well.

Please don't try and flog this collection for £40 though, Sega. It's only worth £20 - £25.

EDIT: VGP are taking pre-orders on this game at £16.85. Bloody hell! Bargain or what!

Golden Axe would be great! Not the horrible "remake" included on the 3D Ages compilation for the PS2, though! I wonder how could SEGA absolutely destroy, in every imaginable aspect, one of the best beat 'em ups ever?! :/
