Project Gotham Racing 3 Confirmed for Xbox Launch – Full Fact Sheet Inside
Microsoft has released a fact sheet for the upcoming Project Gotham Racing 3 which pretty much confirms the game’s appearance at launch with the Xbox 360 console. Microsoft has been consistently vague about its launch plans to date, often talking of launch phase games, and avoiding the subject of day one availability.

The full fact sheet, which we believe is really rather interesting, reads:

The popular "PGR" franchise zooms onto the Xbox 360, expanding many of the "Project Gotham Racing" features gamers have grown to love. "PGR 3" creates the ultimate roster of the hottest supercars in existence, introduces them to the high-definition era, and drops them into a completely new gaming world, where style rules the road. Racers define and create individually customized gameplay, and can race each other — on or offline.

Enhanced and refined gameplay reintroduces racers to the familiar Kudos system with a completely original user-driven experience that lets gamers race what they want, where they want. Gamers drive with style and daring to earn Kudos in front of large crowds, and win badges to reward their skills in all areas of the game.

With a whole new take on accessibility offered by the innovative and user-friendly GothamTV, "PGR 3" becomes even more like a real sport, offline and online. Unparalleled online features allow racers to compete for the right to become the Gotham World Champion, live on GothamTV. With a whole host of new racing modes, custom races, community support and campaigns, "PGR 3" takes advantage of the online advances Xbox 360 has to offer.

Title: "PGR 3"
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios
Developer: Bizarre Creations Ltd.
Format: DVD for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system
ESRB Rating: Pending

Features:

* The original Kudos challenge. Speed alone will not win this race. "PGR 3" rewards the best drivers for their ability to execute bold moves as they race. Powersliding, pulling off a 360, getting airtime, staying on the race line, drifting and getting up on two wheels will earn gamers Kudos points for their style and skill.

* The ultimate supercar collection. Gamers can live out all their dream car fantasies as they own more cool cars than they ever thought possible. Players can take the wheel of more than 80 authentically modeled and licensed supercars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Dodge and Lamborghini. With fully modeled interiors, functioning dashboards and individually recorded engine roars, life truly begins at 170.

* A world of living, breathing cities. "PGR 3" transports gamers to intricately modeled popular locations, including New York, Tokyo and multiple other cities. The tracks are brought to life and populated by thousands of people in the crowds — all motion-captured — making "PGR 3" a racing game that really has to be seen to be believed.

* GothamTV takes gamers online with Xbox Live. "PGR 3" exploits next-generation worldwide connectivity to let drivers show off in front of a global online audience. With GothamTV, gamers can watch any player in the world on live news feeds, get live ticker-tape information when friends break records, and compete with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Drivers can choose to casually involve themselves in the online side of GothamTV or set out to climb the ranks and conquer the entire institution of worldwide "PGR 3" racers.

* Customized gameplay. Gamers have asked to race their own way, and now they can. No longer are gamers forced to race cars they don't want or battle through the game just to see a city they want; how gamers play the game, and in which car, is now in their hands. And if they want to show their friends, they can go online and challenge them.

* Real life in the living room. Gamers can take their Xbox 360, "PGR 3," a television with HDTV and a Dolby 5.1 setup, plug it in and take it away. With individually recorded engine sounds, ambient recordings at every real-life location and GothamTV's unique user interface, "PGR 3" gamers are stepping into a whole new reality.

This sounds like a left over brochure snippet from E3.

MS, if the game is good enough you don't have to flog it to encorage sales. That's what games mags and websites are for.

I'm sure the scousers at Bizarre will maintain their track record despite celebrating that Liverpool win in the UEFA Champions League last month. Makes me wonder if PGR has any celebrating scousers with curly perm fros in its crowded spectators.

Come on lads, back to work.

As far as I know thats how all fact sheets look like... most games have one on their site and they sound really cheesy. No one in marketing (or at least the most talented in marketing) appears to have anything to do with the fact sheet. Its just a piece of text blowing hot air up its own game's ass. I never really liked the series and pretty graphics won't change that. There is no sense of speed IMO like in Burnout or Midnight Club 3.

It's still funny that Microsoft considers the first three months to be the "launching period" for their games. Great, you put out a crappy run of first games and you want to make up for it by stating that, "(*ahem) We feel here, the pricks at the PR and Marketing offices of X-Box, that games systems in general (read: X-Box) really have a three month window of first run games. A launch peroid, or large f**kin' window so it looks like Microsoft has good first run games, for games to come out and grow and develop a solid fan base." All they had was Halo for a year and a half anyway until JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future. Give it up. There's also no mention of a "day one" availability or even what month after the release of the system will the game be available. I don't give a s**t what interpretations Microsoft thinks of launch peroids. All systems must be judged evenly. If there's no good launch titles to play, I'll just shove my Halo 2 in it and play on my "enhanced Live experience" wherein I can mail videos of me waving my dick in victorious arrogance over the horrible beating my unlucky opponent just received. Hell just cuff me now. Bad things are going to happen.
