Square Enix pledges Massive E3 Showing: New FFVII, FFXII Confirmed and More!
Square Enix fans could be forgiven if they had given up hope in recent months. A complete information black-out, permeated by the odd patent application, had caused some to doubt the existence/continuation of several key franchises, with FFXII believed by some to have been canned for PlayStation 2.

Well, it’s not the case, you’ll no doubt be glad to hear. The RPG behemoth has revealed a partial E3 list, announcing what are undoubtedly some of the biggest games on the planet, including Final Fantasy XII and the long-awaited confirmation of a Final Fantasy VII update carrying the subtitle Dirge of Cerberus.

Lets hope Sony's exclusive on new FF games has run out and all consoles will be supported next generation. If not then i guess xbox owners will have to settle for Elder Scrolls and whatever Bioware comes up with*which when you think about it is better then getting a new FF game ever 3 yrs. Poor Big N will have to settle for well whatever they get, no but seriously the Big N always finds a way to support their RPG crowd.

I don't think we'll ever see that and probably not even then.FF is just too important to Sony.while Square seems more inclined towards Nin than M. Remember FF:CC on cube, not superb but still,I'm looking forward to more SquareE on Revolution.I'm not worried about M$, they're very resolute.

i seriously doubt sony woudl ever let FF slip to another platform, however xboxians have more than just biowares stuff to look forward too, there is of course the two exclusive RPG's beign made by mistwalker.

Also there are those who axiosly await the release of another fable game, myself included. Plus as we all know, M$ has the cash to move mountains, an while i doubt they would fork over the funding required to steal away FF... they may end up with a crystal chronicles style side project, especially if there big japan push works out at all.

will be interestign to see how the next two years of gaming unfold... it trully is anybodies game again.

Dang i forgot about fable and the new studio funded by the FF guy. so it seems that for RPG fans any console is suit, poor sony looks like they might lose some of their RPG crowd. Of course there is still the group of people who all they care about is FF and DW series, aww......... damn its good to be gamer right now, that is a gamer with money to buy every system hehe.

Mr. Creator of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sagakuchi himself has started Mistwalker Studios and is already in the works for two new RPGs for the box. A glorious time indeed.

Yeah, a minigame ripped from an overrated Final Fantasy game? Are we supposed to cream our tighty whiteys just because Cloud can now go Mobile. We're all really waiting for Final Fantasy XII, unless of course your not waiting for it, then your a robot.

I'm a robot.

Seriously, using the Kingdom Hearts battle system in a "true" FF game is like making Mario and Koopa kiss and make up. Plus, I enjoyed the immensely fun Jade Empire too much, and as such will stick to watching Fable 2 and Bioware's site.

I don't really think it's going to be as simplistic or handle the same way as Kingdom Hearts. It's f**kin' Final Fantasy man! It's as american as..., Pokémon? And besides, the Kingdom Hearts battle system wasn't that bad at all, it was pretty good actually. And I doubt your gonna be running around like a madman, it's still heavily menu based.

ALL NON ROBOTS UNITE TO KILL ALL ROBOTS! (just preparing for the future when robots try to take over the world)
