Electronic Arts has announced its intention to trump MTV and Microsoft’s E3 buster, showing the first rolling footage of a next-generation videogame on TV this month.
EA's flagship football franchise, Madden NFL Football, will make its next-generation debut in a TV ad during the first hour of the NFL Draft broadcast on ESPN, beginning at 12 noon ET on April 25, an aggressive move to capture the imagination of gamers prepping themselves for MTV’s Xbox 360 showing two weeks later.
"We have had a dedicated team working on next generation Madden NFL football and we cannot wait for Madden fans to get a sneak peek at the experience that awaits them," said Frank Gibeau, Senior Vice President of North American Marketing for Electronic Arts. "An innovative and unparalleled NFL football experience is what we've promised; and that is what we are going to deliver."
Although the ad will not be aired outside of the states, be sure to check the forum accompanying this news story nearer the time to find a vidcap of the next-generation of gaming in action.
