TV to Show the New Black! EA Uncovers Next-Gen Madden This Month
Electronic Arts has announced its intention to trump MTV and Microsoft’s E3 buster, showing the first rolling footage of a next-generation videogame on TV this month.

EA's flagship football franchise, Madden NFL Football, will make its next-generation debut in a TV ad during the first hour of the NFL Draft broadcast on ESPN, beginning at 12 noon ET on April 25, an aggressive move to capture the imagination of gamers prepping themselves for MTV’s Xbox 360 showing two weeks later.

"We have had a dedicated team working on next generation Madden NFL football and we cannot wait for Madden fans to get a sneak peek at the experience that awaits them," said Frank Gibeau, Senior Vice President of North American Marketing for Electronic Arts. "An innovative and unparalleled NFL football experience is what we've promised; and that is what we are going to deliver."

Although the ad will not be aired outside of the states, be sure to check the forum accompanying this news story nearer the time to find a vidcap of the next-generation of gaming in action.

Even if it only is American football, we can still argue about shading and stuff…

Can't wait, doesn't matter if it's an American Football game, at least it's better than some tech demo.

It'll be interesting, but presumably they won't state which next-gen machine it's running on. And what's the bet it will be cut-scenes, rather than in-game footage.

So....since I live in America I'm not going to be able to see this exclusive advert? That doesn't seem like it makes any sense what-so-ever. Why would America not get to see an ad for a game being made in America that is based on a sport that is most popular, well, in America? I'm so confused.

Major f**k up in the text is what's confusing you. It's now been altered to say what it was meant to say, i.e., that it will be aired in the US only during some footy game later this month.

Easy, tiger!

Ha ha! I get to fall into EA's marketing ploy of shiny graphics applied to the premiere example of unoriginality and bad direction for the market by tuning into a mass market channel just to watch someone try and sell me something and you guys don't!
