SEGA has announced a new incarnation of its much-admired Phantasy Star series - Phantasy Star Universe – currently in development for PC and PS2 under the guidance of franchise supremo Yuji Naka. In true Phantasy style, a deep, deep gaming experience is promised in both solo and on-line multiplayer modes. The solo adventure itself promises 40+ hours of gameplay, while the on-line experience offers the possibility of years of gameplay for Phantasy veterans and RPG enthusiasts alike.

Phantasy Star Universe is slated for a spring 2006 release throughout Europe.
