Phantasy Star On-line sooner than expected
One of Sega’s best and most popular role-playing game series is Phantasy Star. The series dates all the way back to the Master System. It has been over six years since Phantasy 4 was released on the Mega Drive and now we are less than a month away from the latest version.

As you can probably guess, the emphasis of the gameplay of the new Phantasy Star game will be Internet play. You log onto Sega’s server and join virtual chatrooms where you can meet other individuals who are willing to join your quest. Then the four of you embark on your adventure where it is up to you to decide how you play the game. What makes Phantasy Star On-line special is the communication system that it uses. It will be possible to communicate with people that don’t even speak the same language as yourself.

Normally, new videogame releases suffer heavily from slippage problems. How many times have you tried to find a new game and it has been put back a couple of weeks, again? Phantasy Star On-line was originally intended to be launched on the 23rd of February, but that is not the case anymore. The date has now been moved forward to the 9th of February, good news for all interested. The Dreamcast is proving console on-line gaming is exciting reality.
