Take 2’s financial statement, released today, confirm many release dates that the PR wing, have yet to divulge to the press. The publisher of games from Rockstar, the controversial but undeniably popular British development studio, has also confirmed that a quite unbelievable 12 million people have now driven, robbed, flown and generally titillated themselves around the virtual streets of San Andreas.
And now PC and XBOX owners can do the same, as the report confirms that the third Grand Theft Auto game to hit PS2 will widen its audience in Europe on 10th June. Also touted for release in the same window is the mysterious, and yet to be named, GTA game for Sony’s handheld console, the PSP, which will hit the streets at some point between May 1st and July 31st.
The futures of other franchises besides the GTA series were also enlarged upon. The dire Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition will see an earlier release than expected, coming to PC, PS2, XBOX and PSP in April. And The Warriors, an all-new gang warfare game on XBOX and PS2 will come out in September, though as far as we know nobody has yet to see so much as a screenshot of it.
On top of that, there were hints, for those who wished to see them, that another new, internally developed, console title is slated for release in the fourth quarter of the financial year (i.e. the beginning of 2006). We’ll bring you more news on this, be it sequel or all-new IP, as it breaks.
