Play-Yan Recalled - Nintendo Engineer 'so fired'
In a week that has seen Microsoft recall Xbox power cables
and Sony finally recall faulty PSP units it would appear that a new fashion is emerging among the videogame elite.

Today Nintendo has seemingly underlined this new direction, recalling the recently released Play-Yan media player and micro-game add-on for both Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

In something of a “You’re so fired for this!” scenario, it would appear that someone at Nintendo green-lighted the Play-Yan with reverse stereo sound, meaning that users hear left audio through the right channel and right through the left.

Nintendo has offered a recall on the Play-Yan and will replace all launch units with non-confusing, corrected editions.

In other news, Play-Yan is still unconfirmed for Europe, though sources have indicated to SPOnG that the device may well be introduced into the EU and the US this year. We expect E3 to offer something more substantial.

Why is that such a problem. Surely folks could just put their ear-buds in the wrong ears.

And if they aren't using ear-buds, they can simply face away from the screen while playing.

Or turn the screen upside down... see, we're even giving them options ;)

I barely even know what this is, and they're already recalling it? Man, I can't wait to sell the super-rare reverse Play-Yan on ebay!
