Silent Hill Series to Return as Next-Generation Project

Survival-horror "won't be on the current consoles" anymore.

Masashi Tsuboyama, lead designer of the Silent Hill series, has confirmed that Konami is planning to release a fifth episode of the popular survival-horror franchise. At this early stage of proceedings, very little more is known. Tsuboyama-san did however state that, “It won’t be on the current consoles.” So that means Silent Hill 5 will be heading to PS3 or Xbox 2, or maybe even the next Nintendo console?

Back in the here and now, Silent Hill fans are still awaiting the release of the fourth incarnation – The Room - which should be with us by the end of September. It’s looking quite impressive and suitably chilling, and any proposed sequel is sure to be even more so.

Kind of no point in putting it on the Nintendo machine since we've missed majority of the series already. Though it's a big name game and would be welcome, I'd think it's I'd opt for R.E series instead.

I'm sure Sony would likely battle to keep it on their system, even though it's on Xbox too.

Excellent news! Can't wait to see how it turns out on the next Generation. A serious Graphical upgrade will be exspected. It'll most likely stick to PS3/Xbox 2 really. Though wouldn't count Nintendo out, they are apparently working on a Silent Hill DS title, or so the rumours go.

And it wouldn't matter if Nintendo have missed most of the series. Only Silent Hill 3 shares any story link with any other (Silent Hill) and not a major at that. Most are just different characters with different stories revolving around the same town at different insidenses...

I'm actually surprised no other from the outside world of Silent Hill has noticed the strange ocarences and tried to do anything about it. Perhaps thats to come. Silent Hill 6, they send the US army in...doubt they'd last long mind.
