As the Doom III frenzy escalates on an almost daily basis, it has emerged this morning that Windows 98 is not an operating system option, with the only versions of Microsoft’s OS supported confirmed as being XP and 2000

However, penguin loving open-source types will be please by id Software’s Todd Hollenshead stating that “Linux binaries will be available very soon after the PC game hits store shelves.”

Expect everything, and we mean everything, on Doom III, right here, as it breaks.

Well who is till running W98 out there. Mostly non-gamers who just wanna surf the net etc.

Nice to see Linux being supported though.

Or those who don't want to line MS' pockets further/subscribe to licence version evil.zero. Aside from GDI/User resource shortages, I found '98 to be just fine for what I do day-to-day.

Let me be the first to say that anyone expecting to play Doom III on Windows 98 probably can barely turn a computer on.

I take it you don't play games without a big blue screen interluding your play on a day to day basis then? :)
