Katamari Damacy rolls out of Japan and picks up US release date

Americans to enjoy addictive sticky ball action

Posted by Staff
Namco's Katamari Damacy is one of the most peculiar games of recent years, involving a funny looking alien rolling a big sticky ball around a landscape littered with miscellaneous odds and ends. Having played and thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese version, we've been praying for a translation for quite some time. It's not that you can't play the Japanese version, as the little text is largely irrelevant to the joyously simple gameplay; it's just that the rest of the world deserves the right to give it a bash.

So when Namco confirmed to IGN that Katamari Damacy will be released on PS2 in the US in September, we were literally quite happy. And if Namco could go on to confirm a PAL version we would be - literally - extremely happy.

As soon as we get the official word, we'll bring it to you.

Excellent, this looks like good fun.

Now all I can do is pray they release a special edition PAL version of Suikoden IV which includes the full version of Suikoden III...well I can dream :o(
