Ken Kuturagi, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment, has confirmed that Sony's PS3 is due for an appearance at next year's E3. At a Tokyo press conference, Kuturagi-san stated, “We will exhibit our next-generation game console at E3 next year.” So there you have it, E3 2005 will bear witness to the unveiling of the PS3, and most likely, the ‘Next Box’, and possibly the Nintendo ‘Revolution’ as well. After E3 2004’s handheld revelations, it looks like 2005 will be the year for home hardware news.
This announcement helps debunk rumours that the PS3’s development was behind schedule, although next spring is still a while away. In the meantime, anything could happen. If it doesn’t - or indeed if it does - expect to read more PS3 news right here, as it happens.
