Final Fantasy XI PC version awarded European release date

Square Enix’s fantastic MMORPG coming PALwards

Posted by Staff
Final Fantasy XI is going to be released for the pleasure of European PC gamers this coming September, according to a recent announcement from Square Enix. Due to be distributed in Europe by Ubisoft, the PC package will contain both the FFXI expansion packs: Rise Of Zilart and Chains Of Promathia as well as the Tetra Master mini-game.

The likelihood of FFXI receiving any kind of PAL release had previously been in doubt, so this confirmation represents positive news for European-based Square Enix fans. However, thus far there have been no audible murmurings with regards to the Playstation 2 version of the massively multiplayer online RPG. And as long as Sony denies the PAL region access to PS2 HDDs, such an announcement seems unlikely. If it does happen, we’ll keep you informed.

I'm surprised Square have been so slow to get the PC version here out over here, let alone the PS2s. I'm sure some PC owners will have already imported a copies from the u.s.

Some may have even done so for the PS2. Either way it's very lame of Square and this games has been out for a year or so.

Yeah this sucks. I really don't see the point of a PAL PC release. Seeing how easy it is to import it. I already have it for the PC, but I really want it for PS2 as my graphics card sucks. Lets hope this release date means we can exspect the PS2 version soon after...perhaps December.
