Final Fantasy Rumour Round-up – FFVII Movie for PSP and Crystal Chronicles 2
Square Enix’s next moves inside.

There are two juicy rumours doing the rounds this morning, both relating to future projects in the omnipresent Final Fantasy series from Square Enix.
The first, and perhaps most interesting, is the rumour that the CG movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, is the first confirmed PSP movie release for Sony’s upcoming portable games monster.
We have been hearing for some time that Advent Children would play a significant role in pushing the PSP as a media platform from launch. Seemingly confirming this, Square Enix has announced that it has postponed the release of Advent Children from this summer to Christmas 2004 in Japan. Given that the project was said to be all but complete as of last March, a massive PSP-driven launch now seems more feasible than ever. We’ll keep you posted.
The other big Square Enix rumour doing the rounds claims that a sequel to the GameCube exclusive Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will be revealed next month. This was hot gossip on the E3 showfloor, and has now graced the pages of Dorimaga and US magazine EGM.
Although the original game wasn’t as popular Square Enix hoped, it did garner a following and is undoubtedly a great foundation for an action RPG series.
When contacted about both of the above pieces, Square Enix was unable to offer clarification at time of press. Stay tuned for updates.

I think GC owners want a FF game like any other RPGs. The multi player aspect was focused on too much with FF: CC, this meant that when most people completed the single player mode then probably traded it in or sold it.
FF: AC news is annoying which means we won't see it for ages now, probably not til next year on dvd. The film would sell anyway because it's FF, Square don't need to be in Sony's pocket all the time. (nice pun there)
CC sequel should have better characters, like FFVIII and a better story, cause it seems to me more effort was put into FFX/X-2. On top of this a FFVII game is going to mobile phones, so why not GC or Xbox version? We'll see soon though.

i've been waiting for a ff7 remake ever since i got my ps2 it would be great. ff7 is without a doubt the best game i own in my mind it kept me entertained for almost 6 months with all the quests mini games and secret summons etc.

you gusy have to realise that squareenix did not actually make FF:CC. It was outsourced to another developer. Secondly the only reason it was made was because they wanted to make ff:tactics advance on GB and nintendo said, "only if you make a GCN FF also."

Maybe they assume that more people shall have a link cable thing after Four Swords comes out.
