GameCube 2 named - Console takes shape...
Speaking exclusively to SPOnG this afternoon, Nintendo Europe's managing director, David Gosen, revealed the development code-name for the next iteration of Nintendo home console.

The machine is dubbed the Nintendo Revolution, a name that is "...illustrative of its intent," explained Gosen.

He went on to state that the Revolution will be more than just a computer in a box that plugs into your televison and is operated by a joypad, hinting that the multi-title peripheral-driven rollout inaugurated by Donkey Konga will be greatly expanded with the arrival of the Revolution.

Right now, there seems little point in indulging in wild speculation - that would waste time we have set aside for getting excited!

So there we have it, the Nintendo Revolution. Remember where you heard it first and keep it locked to SPOnG for all the breaking news that really matters.

This "exclusive information" was revealed to the world yesterday at Nintendos pre-E3 press conference.

Well whatever the GC successor turns out to be is anyones guess. It's got me intrigued to the max, like everyone else. But we should be at ease knowing little, since this is Nintendos' way of doing business.

We are all really like Charlie, in the street, outside the gates of the Nintendo chocolate factory, wondering what mysteries and wonders lay beyond the walls. And rightly so too, the mystery is all part of the fun of games culture. We say we hate it, but in truth we love it. We love to be surprised and left in awe.

Thay didn't announce that that was what the console would be referred to. At their press conference they said that the new console "will create a gaming revolution."
