KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords
February 2005 will herald the arrival of Knights Of The Republic 2 on Xbox and PC. Picking up five years after KOTOR left off, it’s back to Jedi school as you fight off an onslaught of ultra-evil Sith assassins. Given the huge success of the original, it’s peculiar to note that LucasArts have given the privilege of developing KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords to a company other than Bioware. The fact that this other company is a relative newcomer is even more mystifying. However, Obsidian Entertainment supposedly consists of some talented and well-established individuals, so Star Wars devotees need not despair just yet.

Many of the original features will remain in place, so hopefully the game will retain its absorbing character. There will be a total of seven worlds (with the possibility of more to download at a later date) over 60 Jedi force powers and a whole new range of character classes. Star Wars fans may be used to seeing substandard videogame translations of their favourite sci-fi legend, but if KOTOR 2 is to be one of these, it would be a huge shame. Obsidian, may the force be with you!
