Tekken 5 fights back at E3
Namco Hometek has just confirmed that Tekken 5 is on the way, after company officials had refused to admit its existence during the run up to E3. Due to launch in the arcades this year, the PS2 conversion is already underway, with the possibility of Xbox and GameCube versions further down the line.

The Tekken hype machine will have to work harder than ever before to ensure success. The Namco series has yet to truly prove its worth on the current generation of consoles, with Virtua Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur putting up some stiff competition. There will be a couple of new characters, but apart from that, it’s still unknown as to how Tekken 5 intends to claw back its once loyal following.

Looking damn sweet, it's also about time that Tekken goes multi format. It would improve Namco's chances.

I'd seriously like to see a GC version, since there aren't really any GC beat em ups, whereas the PS2 and Xbox have the motherload, SC2 isn't enough.

It's time to break the chains, Namco. Tekken 5 would do well on GC if there is no competition.
