The legend continues...

New Zelda Game Revealed
Following the first screening of the new Zelda game at the pre-E3 conference, it has become clear that Nintendo have abandoned the Wind Waker’s controversial cel-shaded visuals. Adopting a more traditional graphical style, Link’s latest adventure looks set to satisfy its long-standing fanbase. Appearing in the same teenage guise as his Gamecube Soul Calibur 2 excursion, Link was shown back on his horse, gallivanting around the traditional Hyrulian setting. The return to a more familiar environment, and the lack of sail-ships, would indicate that the next Legend Of Zelda game definitely won’t be Wind Waker 2, as had previously been suggested.

Little more is known about the title, although you can guarantee that the information revealed so far will be more than enough to set tongue’s wagging. In the meantime, Link disciples will have to make do with The Legend Of Zelda: The Four Swords and its beguiling GBA-GC connectivity features. The Four Swords has deviated slightly from the usual RPG form, presenting players with an excellent opportunity for some competitive 4-player missions. Whilst thoroughly entertaining in its own right, it will be a stark contrast to the more sinister mood of the next true Legend Of Zelda sequel.

Well done Nintendo, atleast it show you listening for once again to us customers. This is the game Wind Waker should have been, kind of funny that since it also on GC, the system N64 should have been. LOL.
I agree this new zelda looks awesome, and I'm sure will be worth the wait. We still haven't had The Four Swords in uk/europe yet, and now this Hyrulian gem is unleashed. Brilliant stuff.

Finally, I reckon we all got the wrong end of the stick, with that old Space World demo. We all thought that the cool Zelda n' Ganondorf scene was for a new GC Zelda game, however if you think about it I believe the scene was intended to represent Super Smash Brothers Melee on GC, in which both characters appeared (and later on SC2 for Link). Think about it for a sec. Perhaps our views however stuck in the minds.

On the good side of this Nintendo are listening and acting, this is the a good sign after giving us the GBASP, and soon uk/eu Animal Crossing. Feedback does seem to work, even for them.

Finally after years of bs, i have something to celebrate with Nintendo about. Not just this Zelda game, but Nintedno is finally excited about itself and it shows. Though i am still not impressed with the DS. Welcome back Nintendo, Your that relative I care so much about, but has been down a path of reckless abandon for years. Now you've been to rehab and cleaned yourself up.

I don't think Nintendo would have shown the original Link/Gannadorf battle at spaceworld if it was intended as a demo of Smash Bros or Soul Caliber or anything else. I don't think they would be so foolish as to excite people with a game that looks like Zelda only to tell us it was never intended to be Zelda. I think it's more likely, as they said when Wind Waker was first shown, that they were simply prototyping different directions they could go with Zelda and ended up going for the cell shaded look. I think the really clever thing about it is that instead of saying "Oh you're all disappointed thats it's not the adult one, well we're still working on the adult one it will come eventually" they just worked on it in secret, well aware that the game would make an even bigger impact a couple of year later when everyone had given up hope. Clever Nintendo if you ask me, esspecially in light of the fact that they said several times that the next Zelda would use the Wind Waker engine and was tentatively titled Wind Waker 2. I think they knew full well that this was not the case, and they certainly fooled me!

theres something fishy about nintendos descision....i think they are planning to merge all the heroes (time, ages, seasons, wind) somehow. they usually dont change their development engine so quickly... hmmm sounds like a good plan, huh?

My only complaint is that Nintendo compromised it's own standards for the mainstream fan. Sure, that's how a buisness works, but it still is sad to see the cell shaded stuff go away for the time being.

Anyone who doesn't enjoy a game because of how it looks can almost immediatley be labled as a casual gamer, and as such, part of the majority. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's something I personally dislike about the market.

But yes, the game looks amazing. I haven't been let down by a single Zelda game yet, and I assume this will be no exception.
