RPG giant Square Enix has recently announced it is to deliver a second expansion pack for the PlayOnline world of Final Fantasy XI's Vana 'diel. This comes just several weeks after the news that FFXI had surpassed its 500,000 user target.
We know that the new addition, Chains of Promathia, will boast 40 new areas and several new and much-need modes of transportation, but little else is known in respect to new missions and the possibility of extra job-classes.
Chains of Promathia will hit Japan later this year, with a US version likely to follow. Meanwhile, the continent of Europe continues to wait for any form of online Final Fantasy. The original game is now promised to release this side of Christmas, at least on PS2, but that's a long way off. However, there is a slim chance that the release of the game will be bundled with both the Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia expansions.
We'll keep you posted.
