Capcom to Make Online PAL Move at Last
Capcom has revealed that its upcoming survival-cum-big game hunting PlayStation 2 offering Monster Hunter will be the first game from the Japanese giant to see full online play across Europe.

The move comes in the wake of heavy criticism that Resident Evil Outbreak - an online-focused survival horror - will not see Internet play in Europe due to undisclosed technical issues.

With Monster Hunter's network play confirmed, this is another indication that Capcom Eurosoft will make positive reactions to criticism it receives from PAL gamers. There was a time when Capcom became the unwilling figurehead for all sloppy PAL conversions, a situation it has now remedied.

Monster Hunter, announced only for PlayStation 2 at this time, goes on sale later this year.

Any bets that it will be delayed, offline and non-PS2 exclusive before the end of this year...?

Didn't think so...

It's about time Capcom got things in order with the euro online situation. At last they fix the problem. Monster Hunter looks like a cool game, and I'm sure will be much better once online. Well done, Capcom.

What now happens to all those folk who bought euro RE Outbreak? Will that now go online too, via an extra disk or something, or will it be re-released, updated and sold half price? This needs to be addressed Capcom, otherwise most folk will just wait for FFXI instead.

With RE Outbreak 2 on the horizon and most likely online, it'd be a shame to only have one game like that. Get it sorted people.

Wow, still I won't buy it. No RE: Outbreak online means I'm not going to continue buying into and putting up with all the piss poor PS2 online games anymore.

Xbox Live now has everything PS2 has and much more so its a waste of time having both now RE: Outbreak is offline here. I really hope every Capcom game flops in Europe now :D
