It has come to light that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has canned the blue52 game Stolen outright, with the Camden-based developer now stuck with a whole load of code and no-one to publish it.
Although Stolen was a shady game from the start, in that Sony never officially announced it and no game details were ever released, it is believed that a stealth game was attached to the intriguing moniker.
According to our sources, the game was due to begin shipping at some point between Christmas 2003 and Easter of this year.
And it would seem that this is just the latest bit of bad luck to befall blue52. According to reports surfacing yesterday, the firm unsuccessfully pitched for the Catwoman license and was expected to develop a Lion King title to tie in with the movie's DVD re-release. Obviously, neither of these titles came to fruition.
It is thought that blue52 and the Stolen project have around three months to secure further funding.
