Latest Killzone Screens - The World’s Greyest Game?

Guerrilla debut gets apathetic response.

Given the ridiculous levels of hysteria surrounding Guerrilla’s Killzone offering, it’s hardly surprising that the latest screens released from pre-release code have been met with a certain level of apathy from gamers. Indeed, the screens would have had to have been delivered atop a silver platter with a gold bar on the side to match the hype Sony’s 'Halo-beater' has generated.

First up, it would seem that Killzone is grey. As grey as an elephant, when shown sitting on concrete on a black and white TV. There is also a tiny little bit of green in there too, we noticed on second inspection. So Killzone is the world’s first green and grey game. A USP indeed!

Of course, lack of colour palette makes no impact on gameplay, though we cannot comment on this aspect of the game right now, given that Sony - despite having the game developed in Europe - has only offered playable code to American websites at this time.

Enjoy these screens for now, and expect more from Killzone as soon as we are able to bring you anything more substantial than impressions of this latest batch of screens.

Okay, these screens are a little on the gray side, but they're early screens aren't they? There'll be more color evident in the future, you'll see. Blood red, for starters.

Dude, I always wanted to see a game that was completely mono. And as you progressed, became increasingly more colourful, but in a sort of surreal, cell-shaded way.

I tried to sell the idea to a guy I knew who worked in a games company. But he gave me very short shrift. Bastard. I still reckon it's an idea with legs.
