Electronic Arts Makes an Offer We Can't Refuse
Electronic Arts, the biggest third-party publisher around, and self-styled "best entertainment company in the world" (the firm actually says this) is not one to miss a trick.

Given the upswing in sales of games aimed at a mature audience (they're really aimed at children, though don’t tell anyone – it’s a secret) EA has announced a game based on the beloved Godfather film trilogy.

The game was confirmed by Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Warren Jensen, though no specific information was offered. The license could fit into one of many genres, an interesting point to ponder. Perhaps a first-person shooter or, dare we say it, a mission-based driving game is underway.

Expect to see the game fully exposed at this May’s E3.

Recent mob-related releases - Mafia, Gangland, Chicago 1930. EA, straight out of the blocks there!

My laundered money's on a GTA clone.

Dude, has anyone at Electronic Arse even seen the Godfather movie trilogy? If so they will have noticed that while the (first two) movies were masterfully scripted, and exquisitely acted, they was about as interesting as watching wallpaper paste dry (from the other side of the wallpaper).

Rather than blasting guns and hastily (and recklessly) driven cars, they were snorefest of horses heads in people beds, and Superdad with a mouthful of walnuts.

Even the most ardent fan of the trilogy hasn't been sat on the edge of their seat, bated of breath, waiting for this movie-to-game conversion. Those of us old enough tot remember any of the good godfather movies would much rather have an Rollerball (James Caan, not LL Fool J), or Death Race 2000 game.

I mean, no one expects innovation from EA, but this is a pure and simple case of - "Organised crime sells games, Godfather is the godfather of organised crime movies, we've got SOOOO much more money than senge. Let's make a Godfather game".

Do you ever get the feeling that the people in charge at EA are the same ones in the Orange Movie Commision adverts? All enthusiasm, no clues.

If they had half a brain between em they'd have signed the Sopranos anyway.

Damn those mother-less f**ks!
