SpikeOut Extreme playable at E3! Outrun 2 Debacle Continues!

Nagoshi makes fighter pledge as fresh hint at Outrun 2 emerges.

Speaking in the latest edition of Famitsu, Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi has confirmed that the Xbox group brawler SpikeOut Extreme will be in playable form at this year’s E3. He mentioned that although the game will be on "several kiosks", the online functionality may not be operable in time for the May LA show.

In other news, the endless tedium that is the Xbox version of Outrun 2 has been again dredged up, this time in a comment from Sega, again in Famitsu. According to the company, certain undisclosed Chihiro games are being considered for the Microsoft machine – which makes sense, seeing that the platform is essentially an Xbox - albeit with more memory - under the hood.

Expect updates from E3 in May.

I'm looking forward to E3 this year, though not necessarily for these reasons.

Outrun 2 may be good though - just not as good as the original racer.

Never been overly interested in volleyball games. Nagoshi's a great guy though - maybe he'll work wonders with Spikeout like he did Super Monkey Ball.

Have you played Outrun 2? Whereas Outrun was quite boring and a total game by numbers (apart from coming in an awesome cabinet) Outrun 2 is amazing! It has the best arcade drift function ever, meaning that you practically drive backwards round corners.

If you’re in London, it’s at the Trocadero and Namco Station. Full hands-on impressions and screens available here:

By the "original racer", what exactly do you mean.

Outrun wasn't the first racing game.

Outrun wasn't original.

So, again. What do you mean?
