Operational PSP Prototype Hits Japan
According to sources on the ground in Japan, the first prototype Portable PlayStation units are being shown by Sony Computer Entertainment’s various sales and distribution partners in the country.

Well-placed Japanese contacts point to the first of these meetings being held on Monday, though non-disclosure agreements are, of course, in full effect.

The only rumoured piece of new hardware information to emerge tells of the battery life to be enjoyed by the PSP – an incredible 10 hours of gameplay, which if true, will put this aspect of the machine’s specification out of reach of the competition.

Sources also indicate that the Japanese launch will be December 3 this year, hinting that western version might slip to Q1 2005.

We’ll keep you updated with any breaking developments in the coming days.

I can't even conceive of playing Tekken on a handheld - tiny buttons and a screen that's moving eratically with each hammering of the buttons.
