In the latest Famitsu, Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi and Yuji Naka have made some brief comments about their studios' perception of the Nintendo DS.
As part of an interesting investigation in which developers spoke on the machine, (the kind of thing UK developers should grow the balls to do) it seems that Sega is hugely positive about the intriguing little device.
"I read about it first and I was very surprised. I think the system represents the desires of both players and developers," stated Amusement Vision's Nagoshi. "There are so many ideas to explore which were previously impossible." Yes there are. Like some kind of amazing Monkey Ball derivative, with two tiers of play - if you fall from the first screen, you land on the second. Well, we can always hope...
Sonic Team boss Yuji Naka was less, well, interesting. "We're looking forward to it. We definitely want to have software available for it at launch."
However, anyone who was present at the global N-Gage launch in London last year will remember that Naka will pretty much say yes to anything if it means he can port a version of Sonic the Hedgehog onto it.
