Acclaimed Sega director Toshihiro Nagoshi has thrown his team’s full support behind the Xbox and confirmed three games for the system, all of which are scheduled to hit at some point this year.
At this point in time, only SpikeOut Extreme has been named, cementing Nagoshi’s long-term commitment to the illusive series that was canned for the Dreamcast back in 2001.
It is an absolute certainty that SpikeOut will feature full online play, given that the Model 3 coin-op original supported Internet play (even if it was only in three arcades somewhere in Japan.)
As to what the other games are is still a big mystery, though a version of Daytona is considered among the most likely.
Expect clarification soon.
