Following requests from GameCube owners across the world, Konami has made clear once and for all the situation regarding a possible GameCube version of Silent Hill 4: The Room.
It's not going to be developed. In an open letter to the Japanese press this week, Konami simply stated that it wasn't in the process of developing a GameCube version. So that's that, we guess…
It seems a little short-sighted to us. Although Nintendo has done itself no favours in terms of upping the age of it's perceived target demographic, the fact remains that there are legions of gamers who always have, and always will have, the latest Nintendo home console. To miss out on this market due to a very much Japan-centric platform delusion is ill conceived to say the very least.
Konami, however, did reiterate that the Xbox and PlayStation 2 versions of Silent Hill 4 will hit around the world in autumn of this year. We'll bring you any breaking news between now and then.
