Okay, so given the fact that Sony representatives are probably so used to uttering the following comment that they’re doing it in their sleep, it’s most probably the latter. But, according to TotalVideoGames.com, a response of “Sorry, we haven't announced any SCEE-published games for PSP yet” was the reply when the company was quizzed about a potential second outing on PS2 for the futuristic racer.
Now, it could be a totally innocent comment, or it could carry a little more subtext, and only time will tell. With the exception of the most recent outing, Wipeout has proved to be an extremely successful series for PlayStation, and has often been attributed to playing a key role in the increased ‘cool factor’ of the machine and the subsequent PlayStation Generation. Given the fact that practically every big game from the PlayStation back catalogue is likely to be ported to the PSP at some point, it is highly probable that the game will surface in some form or another in the near future.
With any luck, more info will emerge soon.
