First ever Xbox 2 and PlayStation 3 title revealed!
It seems that, as of yesterday, 'Next Gen' truly does mean next generation, and people must therefore stop using the phrase to refer to the current crop of ageing gaming hardware. Climax has confirmed that its Brighton studio is well into the development of what will surely become one of the launch titles for Sony and/or Microsoft's next hardware venture.

Codenamed Avalon, the game is to be driving/racing-based - all that is known so far is that it will incorporate land, sea and air vehicles, and that it will boast 'groundbreaking graphics, sensational sound and gripping gameplay'.

The game is being developed using Climax's own cross-platform Blimey 2 engine. Created by the company's Core Technology Group (CTG), Blimey 2 has been designed specifically with next generation game development in mind, while also benefiting from the original Blimey's versatility, simplicity, power, and user-friendliness. As such, the game is said to already be at a remarkably advanced stage of development, with a fully playable online prototype housed at the Brighton office.

News on all things Avalon, or whatever it ends up being called, as it breaks.
