PlayStation 2 Emotion Engine in the dock
According to reports surfacing over the weekend, Sony might be about to find itself in a world of trouble.

The university of Wisconsin in Madison has apparently filed a lawsuit against Sony Computer Entertainment claiming that the PlayStation 2 processor, the Emotion Engine, infringes a design it came up with - and more importantly, patented - way back in 1986.

The conglomerate unit which powers Sony’s best-selling machine itself is not, from what we can gather, at the centre of the case, rather the manufacturing processes used in its creation.

The suit is said to be levelled at both Sony and its technology partner Toshiba.

Frustratingly, nothing more is available at this point in time.

We’ll bring you updates as we get them.
