Sega Japan has announced a new appointed former ASCII boss Hideaki Irie as president and chief operating officer of the firm’s American branch, effective as of today.
Irie-san’s main duties will include overseeing all sales, marketing and publishing activities, with a focus on pushing Sega’s beleaguered Sports offering.
“Hideaki has the leadership skills and experience to oversee all aspects of SEGA of America, and we look forward to having him ensure the success of the future strategic direction of our business in North America," said Sega overlord Hisao Oguchi.
We’ll let you know if anything interesting happens in coming months.
