Grand Theft Auto III goes missing from Capcom

Tokyo Game Show no-show raises eyebrows.

Capcom of Japan has released what it calls its “final announcement” of what it intends to show at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, due to take place in a matter of days.

However, Grand Theft Auto III is surprisingly missing from the announced list, which reads as follows:

GameBoy Advance:
Mickey's Magical Quest 3
Reversal Trial 3
Rockman EXE 4

GameCube:
Gotcha Force
Mickie & Minnie: Trick and Chase

PlayStation 2:
Auto Modellista: U.S. Tuned
Biohazard Outbreak
Catan
Monster Hunter
Onimusha 3
Onimusha Buraiden
Pride GP 2003
Splinter Cell
Way of the Samurai 2

Xbox:
Splinter Cell
Tenki

As GTA III is due to be released in Japan on September 25, a more perfectly timed game to show one cannot imagine. As to why Rockstar’s kill-em-up has been missed out is anyone’s guess.

We’ll endeavour to bring you clarification on this within days.
