Nintendo e-Reader disappears from European schedule, questions unanswered.

Euro Nintendo fans shafted again.

It has come to light that Nintendo Europe has dropped the e-Reader from its release schedule, in news that comes as another blow to beleaguered Euro Nintendo fans.

Hot on the heels of news that a PAL version of acclaimed life sim Animal Crossing will get an Australian release, Nintendo has confirmed that the e-Reader has been indefinitely bumped from its release plans.

And this comes to us the day after Nintendo America announced they’ll be giving the thing away for free!

This news also poses some serious questions as to the content of several of Nintendo’s games, not least Mario Advance 4, the Super Mario Bros 3 re-make due to hit our shores later this year. As you may know, several levels and other goodies are to be unlocked via e-Reader. If there’s no e-Reader, does that mean a smaller game in Europe? Or will NOE shoulder the development costs involved in implementing a complete version, out of the box?

At this point in time, no one knows.

We’ll bring you updates on this shocking story as they break.
