Half-Life 2 at ECTS

In a purpose built amphitheatre, no less.

There’s little doubting that Half-Life 2 is going to be one very popular game. Generally agreed as ‘the game of E3’, it has already generated a huge amount of press, despite the fact no-one knows for sure when it will be released. Maybe it will be ready for September 30, maybe it won’t. Either way, Half Life 2 will definitely be making an appearance at ECTS in a couple of weeks.

Valve are set to hijack the Vivendi UK stand, as they look forward to masses of people standing around, dribbling and making ‘oooh’ noises. Not content with just displaying the game in a well-polished cabinet, they’ll be ‘performing’ Half-Life 2 in a ‘purpose-built sound-proofed amphitheatre’. Like they say, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

This announcement is sure to please everyone. Valve get more press, ECTS and London Games Week look more important, and the public get to look at their most anticipated game. As Andy Lane, ECTS organiser, so acutely observed, ‘Great games like Half-Life 2 are what London Games Week is all about.’
