More Nintendo Japan-only cool stuff

GameCube goes baseball

Posted by Staff
In a rather unorthodox move, Nintendo has announced that it will release a special edition Cube if a particular Japanese baseball team win the central league pennant.

That particular team is the Hanshin Tigers (possibly Satoru Iwata's favourite?) and the respective customised GC is called the Hanshin Tigers 2003 Year Victory Commemoration Model. As part of what's known as the 'enjoyment plus pack', the machine is kitted out in the team's outfit and comes bundled with a Game Boy Player, a unique Hanshin Tigers controller, a uniform, and the Tigers' victory logo plastered across the disc tray - a logo obviously not available until the Tigers actually witness the victory.

The price? 27,700 Yen (£145). How much do we want one? Lots!
