There’s something strange about online gaming enthusiasts. Whether they’re playing Phantasy Star Online through a Dreamcast or at large in EverQuest on the PC, they seem to be unable to resist cheating.
This being the case, Fire International has announced a cheat disc for the excellent SOCOM Navy Seals that will enable all manner of goodies, such as unlimited ammo, recoil protection, rapid fire and more.
Given that this is SCEE’s flagship online title, this is terrible news for the whole PS2 online programme as a whole. Microsoft claims to have successfully eliminated all cheating by way of a restrictive and all-encompassing online closed structure.
Exactly how Sony, with its free-for-all net gaming policy will fare in comparison remains to be seen.
