One million plus sales sees the arrival of chameleonic GBA SP
Nintendo has stated that an impressive 1.1 million units of Game Boy Advance have been sold through at retail since the machine was launched earlier this year.

Enjoying what might be its final romp alone in the handheld market, Nintendo simply presents the only feasible option for portable gaming around the world, with GP32, WonderSwan and the Neo Geo Pocket all crumbling before the super-toy might of the GBA.

And by way of celebration, Nintendo is releasing two new colour variations on the SP, or Special Project, making the machine available in both black and dark red, or Onyx. Hmm…

“In our industry, any product selling more than one million units is a certified mega-hit," says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America. "For Game Boy Advance SP to outsell each of the home console systems is testament to the expanding popularity of gaming on the go."

Sony’s somewhat mystical PSP should take note.
