SEGA Japan has released the first screens and details from Super Monaco Grand Prix, as re-made under the firm’s SEGA AGES brand. As you may know, SEGA announced its plans to fully optimise its wealth of untapped intellectual properties, and this is the first example.
Following well received outings in the arcades starting way back in 1980, the Monaco Grand Prix brand saw healthy sales with re-makes released for Master System, GameGear and MegaDrive.
The new version, to be made exclusively for PlayStation 2, will feature four-player split-screen action viewed from a top-down perspective, as well as the Master System version hidden away as a bonus.
We’ll bring you our impressions when we see the code.
