Capcom Conference

They came, they saw, they conferred.

Taking pole position amongst the E3 conferences, Capcom have begun flaunting themselves in front of the world's gaming press. Amongst a roster of Japan-orientated titles (Megaman, etc.) came a menu of sequel updates based on some of the biggest Capcom names.

RESIDENT EVIL OUTBREAK
Resident Evil Outbreak is the upcoming online PS2 version of the famous survival horror series. As you might expect, it's going to be terrifying. Hideous FMV sequences and hordes of zombies will doubtlessly make the experience as unpleasant as possible.

The networking option is shaping up nicely, with plenty of opportunities for co-operative teamwork. For instance, you might play a security guard, taking on the undead, whilst a waitress helps an injured player escape. It's not all good though. Should a fellow player's T-Virus level exceed the limit, they'll turn into a zombie and bite the nose off your face. (Unless you shove a shotgun down their throat as a preventative measure!)

ONIMUSHA 3
This won't be too radical a departure from its prequels. With beautifully crafted aesthetics it'll provide the usual grizzly warrior slash-fest, apparently set within more interactive environments than in previous outings. Jean Reno has been tentatively penned to do the voices, but that's not been finalised as yet.

ONIMUSHA BLADE WARRIORS
Capcom have also seen fit to inject some multiplayer frivolity into the Onimusha mix. Blade Warriors will allow up to four players (with a PS2 Multitap) to cut each other up in a melee style, jumping from platforms and hacking up the jugulars of their nearest and dearest.

GOTCHA FORCE
A totally new Capcom title, this time kicking up a ruckus on the GameCube. It's been pitched as a multiplayer blaster with brain-aching speed, based around a vast collection of heavily armed 'killer-toys'. Taking on each other, or an invading alien force, it's a subtle blend of Micro Machines and Mechwarrior. With enormous quantities of collectables and power ups, and over 1000 different toys to unlock, it could be well impressive. Certainly, the ability for players on the same side to build their toys together into a huge mecha-killer will appeal to fans of bizarre Japanese cartoons.

DINO CRISIS 3
Dinosaurs in space - it's a lovely concept. This third-person action/adventure game will require you to survive the perils of being attacked by dinosaurs in a gigantic space station. With these new expansive levels you'll need some decent transport too. Enter the jetpack. Sweet! Big guns, mutant cyber-dinos and jetpacks… what more could you possibly want?
