It’s the return of the Sims, back for their second console outing. And this time they’re going to venture beyond the end of the drive. Hence the title, The Sims Bustin’ Out. Once they’ve escaped the confines of the front yard, your little people can wander about town in search of exciting adventures. So it won’t be long before your Sims are throwing shapes in the church of dance, trying to impress the ladies and/or gents down at ‘Club Rubb’.
Bustin’ Out also features more upwardly mobile ‘peeps’ than in the previous version. Now you can hop on a scooter to do a bit of exploring, or put your hard-earned cash into buying a shiny new car. Indeed, there are new ways of earning a crust too. You could be a professional fashion victim (not sure how that would work), a nutty scientist, or even a gangster. Sweet.
The essence of Bustin’ Out is very similar to the original, but is presented with more varied gameplay, loads more challenges, and plenty of suitably silly nips’n’tucks. There’s the return of the two-player mode, with co-op or head-to-head gameplay, and a sizeable array of other Sims to interact with. It looks like Maxis are set to entertain console-owning Sims fans once again when the game busts out in early 2004.
