Electronic Arts has released preliminary details of what goodness can be found in the sequel to the massively popular Sims life control simulator for PC.
The new outing will feature DNA, with Sims able to pass down their genetic code to their offspring. This will include physical features, as well as behavioural patterns.
EA also confirmed that from now on, Sims will grow old and die of old age. Harsh. Also mentioned was the fact that a lifestyle engine will encircle the “action” with Sims monitored for what they eat, and how much working out they do and so on. This will lead to fat Sims, thin Sims and so on.
“The Sims, themselves, always have been the most interesting part of the game experience for me. Giving them DNA makes them even more lifelike and increases the personal connection between players and their Sims," said Will Wright, chief game designer at EA's Maxis Studio, "The strategy of playing Sims across a lifetime and experiencing their emergent traits and behaviours will give players a deeper and more realistic experience."
Expect more from E3.
