Sony’s driving fetish studio Poyphony Digital, has announced a deal with Volkswagen that will see the firm’s cars take advantage of Gran Turismo 4 technologies as part of a driver training program.
According to reports from Japan this morning, VW will have its entire range mapped and rendered, including an array of prototypes and concept cars. Polyphony will work with VW on tweaking the weight distribution, handling and so on.
This is just the latest car-industry tie-in to bolster the coffers at Polyphony, and follows deals with Toyota, Nissan and more. Perhaps the game developer will be able to leverage these relationships to convince the auto industry to allow car damage in their games.
