Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles in ‘it exists’ shocker!

SquareSoft Japan has given the elusive Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles a release date, after massive speculation that the game may not be released in 2003.
Dated for July 18 in Japan, much sooner than was widely expected, again Europe will have to wait, probably for the customary 12 months, before we see the game. As you may remember, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles does not now feature on Nintendo or Square’s European release schedule, despite Nintendo cynically advertising the game as “coming soon” as early as last autumn.
This early date may also shed some light on rumours emerging from Japan this morning that Square will only release 1.8 million copies of Final Fantasy X-2, the game’s initial shipment, and no more. Frenzied Internet activity in the East in the early hours claims that after the first batch is sold, Square will not produce replenishment stock.
So as ever, Europe waits. Final Fantasy X-2, FF XI, FF XII, Crystal Chronicles and more.
