Sega bucks Xbox Live

PSO to cost extra, revenue model rejected.

Sega and Microsoft have not been able to reach an agreement over Xbox Live pricing, it has been disclosed, with Sega seemingly rejecting Microsoft’s revenue split model.

Players of Xbox Phantasy Star Online for Xbox in the US will have to fork out for a Hunter’s License, costing $8.95 per month, on top of their Xbox Live subscription fee. It’s also worth remembering that broadband connection fees will also be incurred, leaving the PSO 1&2 package with headset, surely a dream of a game, perhaps out of the reach of most gamers.

When the European pricing is announced, you’ll be the first to know.
